TOBB ETU YAEM Project Is Turkey’s Number One
31st Annual Operations Research & Industrial Engineering Conference took place at Sakarya University on July 5-7, 2011. A total of 55 projects from top Turkish universities were submitted to the Student Project Contest, which has become a traditional part of the conference, and 12 of these projects were selected as finalists. Final presentations were made in front of a large audience including an academic jury of five. Four out of 12 finalist projects were from TOBB ETÜ Industrial Engineering Department. The project titled "Development of a Decision Support System for Check-in Counter Assignment in the International Departures Terminal of Atatürk Airport" which was done for TAV Airports Holding, the company operating Atatürk Airport. We congratulate the project team comprised of Onur Babat, Erkin Bayrakçı, Özden Onur Dalgıç, Abdullah Taşkıncan, and Selim Yüksel. In the contest, METU project for Turkish Red Crescent came in the 2nd place, while the 3rd place project was done by Uludağ University students for Bosh.
