Best Paper Award for TOBB ETÜ Economics Faculty Member Asst. Prof. Güneş Aşık at the ERF Conference

Faculty members from the Department of Economics at TOBB University of Economics and Technology represented our university at the 31st Economic Research Forum (ERF) Conference, one of the leading academic events focused on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This year’s conference, held in Cairo, centered on the theme “Youth, Demographic Dividend, and Migration: Challenges and Opportunities in Uncertain Times in the MENA Region.”
At the conference, our faculty member Asst. Prof. Güneş Aşık and PhD student Çağlar Yüncüler received the Best Paper Award for their joint work titled “Do Employment Subsidies Have an Impact on Skill Intensity and Technological Level of Production?”
In addition, faculty members Prof. Dr. Talha Yalta (“Monetary Policy Spillover Effects of the Fed and the ECB: Evidence from Türkiye”), Assoc. Prof. Belgi Turan (“The Long Shadow of PKK Conflict in Türkiye”), and Asst. Prof. Yenal Can Yiğit (“The Impact of Price, Legality, and Flavor Availability on Consumer Decisions: A Discrete Choice Analysis of Nicotine Products in an Illicit Market”) contributed to the academic discussions addressing critical issues in the MENA region.
