Strategic Planning and Quality Studies Introductory Meeting

The strategic plan and quality work, launched on 8 December 2022 with a meeting chaired by Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Sarınay and attended by Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Murat Alanyalı, Secretary General Dr. Gökhan Göksu, deans, directors of graduate schools, heads of department and the staff of the Corporate Strategy Office to build a strong strategy that will carry TOBB ETÜ into the future, is continuing.

In this scope, the Quality and Strategic Planning Opening Meeting, the first event of 2023, was held on 7 January 2023 in the TOBB ETÜ Conference Hall with the participation of more than 60 volunteer stakeholders who wished to contribute to the process.

In his opening speech, TOBB ETÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Sarınay stated that the strategy, quality and accreditation work, which is of great importance for TOBB ETÜ, will be carried out regularly, and thanked the volunteers taking part in the preparation of the 2023-2028 Strategic Plan, as well as Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Taylan Özkan, Prof. Dr. Berna Tarı Kasnakoğlu, Prof. Dr. Ali Aydın Selçuk and the Corporate Strategy Office, who coordinate the work.

At the meeting, where the participants introduced themselves and shared their expectations of the work, various activities were also held to help the groups get to know each other better. The meeting, at which Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Taylan Özkan and Prof. Dr. Berna Tarı Kasnakoğlu gave presentations to inform the participants about the process, ended with a survey and the sharing of its results.

Focus groups made up of volunteer academics, administrative staff, students and alumni will work on analyses, evaluations and recommendations under the five headings set: leadership and management, internationalization, education and training, research and development, and social contribution. The work will continue with a two-day workshop planned for February and regular meetings of the focus groups, the advisory board and the core team responsible for coordination.
