TOBB ETÜ Department of Economics 2025-26 Academic Year Orientation Meeting

The Department of Economics at TOBB ETÜ held its 2025-26 Student-Faculty Orientation and Information Meeting on October 8, 2025, at the TEPAV 3rd Floor Meeting Hall. The event brought together faculty members and both new and continuing students in a productive, engaging, and inspiring atmosphere.

The program opened with remarks by Prof. Dr. A. Talha Yalta, Chair of the Department of Economics, followed by a keynote talk titled “On Being an Economist” delivered by Prof. Dr. İsmail Sağlam. Later in the session, TOBB ETÜ Economics graduate and Infinitum Inventa founder Utku Koç gave a talk titled “From TOBB ETÜ Economics to Business Life,” sharing his post-graduation experiences.

The event also featured the 2024-25 Departmental Awards Ceremony, where recognition was given to students who achieved success in academic publishing, those who represented the department with distinction during university promotional events, and the alumni speaker Utku Koç for his contribution to the program. Members of the Economics and Finance Society also added color to the event with their active participation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Belgi Turan, Vice Chair of the Department, provided key information for the new academic year. The program concluded with an interactive Q&A session and a group photo, followed by refreshments and informal conversations that strengthened the sense of community within the department.
