TOBB ETÜ Department of Economics 2026-27 Student-Faculty Meeting

The Department of Economics at TOBB ETÜ held its annual Student–Faculty Orientation and Information Meeting on Friday, October 2, 2026, in the TEPAV Third-Floor Meeting Hall. Bringing together faculty members and both new and continuing students, the event offered an opportunity to celebrate the department’s achievements over the past year and share information for the new academic year.

The program opened with remarks by Prof. A. Talha Yalta, Chair of the Department of Economics. Reviewing the department’s activities and key developments over the past year, Yalta highlighted achievements made possible by the contributions of students and faculty members.

Assoc. Prof. Ozan Ekşi then delivered the keynote address, “Through the Lens of Economics.” Following an information session for students led by Asst. Prof. Ayşe Özgür-Pehlivan, Ahmet Yaldız and Rabia Özdemir shared their experiences of university life in a talk titled “Six Years at TOBB ETÜ.”

The event also featured the 2025–26 Departmental Awards Ceremony, recognizing students for their academic achievements and contributions to the university and department. Undergraduate students who had represented TOBB ETÜ and the Department of Economics with dedication during the summer university promotion days also received awards in appreciation of their service.

The meeting gave students an opportunity to get to know one another and their faculty members. We thank all who joined us and wish our entire department a productive and successful academic year.
