Encouraging law students to supporting individuals who do not have the chance to get legal assistance, and thus, instilling an awareness of social responsibility among the students is an indispensable component of law education. Such an awareness would also equip them with insights into the background of the disputes they would be involved in after graduation.

For this purpose, since academic year 2014-2015, the students of our Faculty are providing legal support to detainees and convicts at Ankara Sincan Prison and Detention Centers, in cooperation with Ankara Bar Association and the Ministry of Justice, Department of Prisons and Detention Centers.

Law clinics used widely as a part of education programs in the United States of America and the United Kingdom, are implemented only a limited number of Law Schools in Turkey. TOBB ETÜ Law Clinic is one of those rare organizations.
