About the Department

Management Information Systems (MIS) is an interdisciplinary field located at the intersection of computer science, management science, and information technologies. The program approaches technology infrastructure, information management, business process analysis, data analytics, and strategic decision-making from a holistic perspective.
The TOBB ETÜ MIS Department is an applied program that introduces students to real business problems at an early stage. The department aims to educate not only technical specialists but also dual-competency professionals who can guide organizations through digital transformation processes, derive insights from data, design systems, and bridge the gap between management and technology.
The department curriculum is based on four core competency axes:
1. Software, Systems, and Technology Infrastructure
Programming, Database Management, Systems Programming, Information Security, Web Design, and Systems Analysis.
2. Business and Management Competency
Business Administration, Marketing, Organizational Behavior, Production and Operations Management, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership.
3. Data-Driven Decision-Making and Analytical Competency
Statistics, Research Methods, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics in Business, and Decision Support Systems.
4. Future Competencies and Sustainability
Green Deal, Information Law and Ethics, and Human-Computer Interaction.

CFA University Affiliation Program

The CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) certification is one of the most prestigious professional certifications in the finance world. The CFA Institute is a globally respected organization recognized for establishing the highest professional and ethical standards in the financial sector. CFA University Affiliation requires a program curriculum aligned with investment ethics principles and covering at least 70% of the CFA Program curriculum.


Through participation in this program, our department receives a three-student scholarship each year for the CFA Institute professional certification examination. SAP University Alliances Program

Successful companies focus on managing and optimizing their core business processes. Many large and medium-sized companies achieve this by establishing integrated business systems known as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). SAP is the global market leader in ERP systems.


Today, these large and complex systems form the backbone of many organizations ranging from private companies to government institutions. Research indicates that 85% of Fortune 500 companies have implemented an ERP system.

Our department has been teaching SAP for more than 10 years as part of the SAP University Alliances program.

Refinitiv is one of the world’s leading providers of financial data and infrastructure. Students in our department receive training using Refinitiv terminals simultaneously with finance courses and obtain certification.
