The Economics Department successfully held the Fall 2025 Academic Mentorship Meeting on Wednesday, 19 November, from 13:30 to 15:30 in the Second Floor Meeting Room. The session was organized for high-performing third and fourth year students with a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or above as part of the department’s ongoing Academic Mentorship Program.

The meeting was led by Prof. Dr. Asena Caner and Prof. Dr. İsmail Sağlam, who engaged in an open and interactive discussion with the participating students. The two professors provided guidance on academic planning, graduate school opportunities, and broader academic development pathways. Students also shared their experiences and asked questions related to their studies, future goals, and professional preparation.

Participants noted that the opportunity to speak directly with faculty mentors was highly valuable. They also expressed interest in holding an additional meeting in future semesters focused specifically on academic careers and research trajectories.

The Academic Mentorship Program, launched in 2024, aims to support outstanding students through regular meetings, individual consultations, and faculty guidance. The department plans to continue strengthening the program through semesterly sessions and expanded mentoring opportunities.
