Computer Olympics of the Balkans, the 25th iteration of which was held in Chisinau, Moldova on 2-8 July, 2017, saw the Turkish National Team formed with the support of TUBITAK win 2 bronze medals and add yet another Olympic success to the list of its achievements. The computer Olympics expect high-school students answer 3 questions within 5 hours, using the correct algorithm and data structures to program the solution within the time and memory limits set. The rankings for the medals are based on the overall score the students have achieved through their participation in the event, on 2 distinct days. The students who comprise the team representing Turkey in the Balkan Olympics are enrolled at Istanbul Men’s High School, Galatasaray Lycee, and Bahçeşehir Science and Technology High School, while the team is led by our Computer Engineering faculty member Assoc. Prof. M.Fatih Demirci, assisted by Prof. Tolga Can (METU) and Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Tan (TOBB ETÜ).
