ETÜ Model United Nations Conference to Be Held at TOBB ETÜ between November 11 and 14, 2017

What Is Model United Nations Conference?
Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an extra-curricular activity, which is organized worldwide and in which students from various schools and educational institutions located all over the world typically roleplay delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees, discussing actual world matters. Just as in the United Nations, the students in the committees adopt resolutions that could affect the entire world, preserving the interests of the country they represent. The goal is to complete all sessions for 4 days in compliance with the procedures and in such manner that would suit a diplomat and to draw up a "resolution paper" as a committee.
Also, MUN is recognized as the most prestigious academic activity for the students by universities, educational institutions and numerous academic authorities worldwide. It is supported by the United Nations and the European Union as well as many prominent and reputable universities in the world, primarily including Harvard University. The certificate obtained at the end of the conference enable students to attend the university free (with full scholarship) as proven by many examples in the present.
ETU MUN17 Conference, which is held for the first time at our university this year, will be held at the Recreational facilities and the Main Building between November 11 and 14, and will be attended by high school and university students from all over Turkey.
The 6 committees at ETUMUN17 will be:
- Kim Jong Un’s Future War Council
- NATO
- United Nation Security Council
- Historical Committee
- GA-1 DISEC
- GA-3 SOCHUM
and each committee, the number of members of which will vary, will be discussing global problems on the basis of different agendas.
You may apply to our conference as delegates, press members and admins. Even though the deadline for early applications has passed, the applications by the students of TOBB ETÜ will exclusively be admitted subject to early application fee.
