Ahsen Şevval ULUKANLIGİL, a student of the Department of International Relations and one of the Presidents of TOBB ETU Model United Nations (MUN), participated in the United Nations Development Program as the delegate of Chad country and was elected the Promising Delegate by the UN committee managers at the end of the conference. We would like to congratulate our students on this award for their outstanding success during the conference and wish her continued success.

What is MUN?

Model United Nations is a conference organized in many universities and high schools of the world and is based on imitation of the UN sessions. It is a student led conference which students from different backgrounds gather as the leaders of the countries of the United Nations, discuss the current crises of the world such as war, global warming, economic crisis, environmental pollution, refugee crisis etc. in a diplomatic way and report the solutions back to the UN. These activities provide students with; leadership skills, development of academic English speech and writing, engagement in a different social environment, international thinking, learning the policies of other countries, looking at the world in terms of other countries, gaining general cultural knowledge about world crises.
