Lateral Transfer from Domestic Higher Education Institutions

Transfer Based on Academic Achievement Score
Academic success requirement; The student must have taken and passed 85 percent of all curriculum courses in terms of credits prior to the semester in which the transfer is requested at the university where the student is registered and have a General Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.00 out of 4 or 84.40 out of 100 for the completed courses.
- Those who are registered at other higher education institutions in the country and meet the academic success requirement can apply for horizontal transfer to another program of the University.
The program applied for must be an equivalent diploma program.
In this category, horizontal transfer can be made in the first semester of the second year at the earliest and the first semester of the third year at the latest for the department to which the transfer will be made.
Applications are evaluated according to the criteria determined by the senate by including the candidates' general grade point average and at least 40% of the ÖSYS/YKS score in the program's score type in the year the candidate registered to higher education in the calculation, and transfer is provided according to the allocated quota.
Transfer Based on Base Score
Base Score; The entrance score of the lowest-scoring student placed in a higher education institution's diploma program by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) through a central exam.
- Transfers based on base score are taken at the beginning of the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.
- Those who are registered to other higher education institutions in the country and meet the base score requirement for the department they want to transfer to in the year they take the central exam can apply for transfer to another program of the University.
- The program applied for can be in the same or different score type.
- Achievement is not required.
Applications
Applications are accepted on the dates announced in the academic calendar. Announcements for current application periods will be published at https://www.etu.edu.tr/en/ogrenci-isleri. It is important to follow current announcements for application details.
Documents Required for Application
- Student Certificate obtained from the registered university within the last two months (For those applying for horizontal transfer, the document must include the statement that "they have not previously transferred using a central placement score").
- Official transcript from the registered university (except for Foreign Language Preparatory Class students)
- Curriculum program and course contents of the department in the registered university (except for Foreign Language Preparatory Class students)
- ÖSYS Scorecard (document showing the score and success rank for the relevant exam)
- ÖSYS Placement Certificate or result document related to exams whose equivalence is accepted
- Approved document indicating disciplinary status (if disciplinary status is stated on the student certificate or transcript, no additional document is required.)
- English Language Proficiency Certificate specified in Article 6 of the Directive on the Education-Training Principles of the English Preparatory Program (Not required for transfer to Turkish programs.)
- Photocopy of ID
- Application Fee Bank Receipt (A separate application fee is paid for each program applied for. The application fee will be included in current announcements. The statement must include the Turkish Republic ID number and name, as well as the name of the program applied for.) (Application fee is non-refundable)
- In applications made from the Turkish Armed Forces, the Police Academy and affiliated Higher Education Institutions, documentation of the reasons for termination
- If the high school was completed abroad, a notarized Turkish translation of the high school diploma and a High School Diploma Equivalence Certificate to be obtained from the Provincial Directorate of National Education)
Candidates who apply to 30% English departments and complete the two-year requirement in the Preparatory Program must take the exam held by TOBB ETÜ if they do not have one of the English Language Proficiency Determination Documents specified in Article 6 of the Directive on the Education-Teaching Principles of the English Preparatory Program.
